NAME: SHELDON MWALILI
AGE: 17 Years
CONDITION: DEAF and DUMB
RESIDENCE: Maraba, Kakamega, Kenya
BACKGROUND HISTORY
Sheldon is 17 years old. He was born in the year 2000, in Kakamega, Kenya but his original homeland is in Ukambani. Shelton is a second born in a family of five. He was born normal but began ailing at 2 years of age, oozing pus from both ears which continued up to when he was 12 years old. This ailment lead to him being totally deaf. His father used to do casual jobs in Kakamega where they have been residing in Maraba-Makaburini State.
When Sheldon lost his hearing, his parents took him to a special school in Bondo which, according to his mother, is called Nyang'o Mabondo up to class 6, and that was before he was transferred to Mwikhomo school for the deaf where he completed the 7th and 8th classes. Last year, he joined St. Angela's special school in Mumias for his secondary school education. But due to lack of finance for his school fees, Sheldon had to drop out of school and moved back home in Kakamega up-to-date. Unfortunately his father died on the 17th of August this year leaving him a partial orphan. Living with his mother at Maraba-Makaburini, Sheldon now walks around the estates repairing shoes in order to earn a living.
AILMENT AND SUFFERING
At the age of 2 yrs Sheldon began oozing pus from both ears, and this sickness continued for twelve years. This resulted in total impairment of the sense of hearing and inability to talk, becoming totally deaf and dumb. In essence he has been in the land of the silent for 15 years.
MEDICAL HISTORY
Sheldon attended Nala Hospital, St Mary's Hospital and Mukumu Hospital where doctors diagnosed him with Chronic Otitis Media that also made him lose his speech.
So Sheldon could not speak nor hear.
He has been to the schools of the deaf in Mumias as well as in Bondo, Kenya. He has passed through alot of challenges including financial, which lead to him dropping out of school.
ELECTRIC MOMENT
When the MIGHTIEST PROPHET decreed healing on JESUS Is LORD Radio on the 19th of November 2019, Sheldon began hearing a lot of noise. He then signalled the sign language translator that he was hearing a lot of noise.
AFTER THE DECREE:
Following that very Mighty Decree of THE LORD, Sheldon's ears are now open very sensitive. And now he can even try to utter words like Mama and baba.
